Since September 2010, this blog has recorded the journey of this music junkie as I attempt to listen to all the music in my CD collection. CDs revisited in their entirety from start to finish - no skipping tracks, no shuffle. Compact Discs only - no vinyl, no tapes, no files.

Various Artists - The Blue Series Sampler: Celebrating 10 Years of Blue Note (2001)

UK Import

I've slowly developed a fascination with Blue Note's Blue Series but have been unable to find a complete listing, so I bought this disc in hopes that it would help me make a list of the series' discs. Come to find out it's an import disc and the Blue Series was different in the UK than it was here in the US. So it didn't help me with my list, but it's still a great compilation - not a stinker among the ten tracks (the standout track to these ears this time around is Doin' Something by Soulive, but the Crusaders cover is a close second). Now let's cross our collective fingers and hope I don't get all "compulsive completist" on this import series and hunt down every disc, otherwise I'll need to pick up an extra job.
