This CD is a blast. Extended versions of disco music from the golden era of disco (plus 1983 for some reason). Listen, dance, exercise, clean house, fix dinner, bother the neighbors, whatever. I bought the disc for the extended version of Giorgio Moroder's Chase, but there's not a track here that isn't welcome in this house.
Note: evidently the Jabara track listed below is not the 12" version so if I had bought the CD looking for that 10:44 track, I would be in a totally different headspace.
Peak on the US Billboard Top 200 chart: Did not chart

Personal Memory Associated with this CD: In the summer of 1980, I was spinning 45s with a friend Michael. He had a copy of Chase and put it on. About 30 seconds in, using his deepest announcer voice, he belts out "Tonight! Our game live! from The Spectrum in Philadelphia!" and it fit perfectly.
Speaking of 1980 and disco, here's a photo from around that time of
"Hello there. What's your sign?" |
