Since September 2010, this blog has recorded the journey of this music junkie as I attempt to listen to all the music in my CD collection. CDs revisited in their entirety from start to finish - no skipping tracks, no shuffle. Compact Discs only - no vinyl, no tapes, no files.

Various Artists - The Best of Acid Jazz: In the Mix 2 (2000)

An mostly instrumental acid jazz compilation I picked up at Half Price Books that was put together by DJ Smash (who I've never heard of) from various artists (who I've never heard of) on the Instinct label (which I've never heard of). This is good background music for whatever: cocktail party, cleaning the house, simply taking it easy. It's a continuous mix so there's no down time between tracks. I wouldn't seek out any other discs in this series, but if I saw one available used for a few bucks, I'd probably pick it up.

Peak on the US Billboard Top 200 chart: Did not chart

Tracks: I particularly enjoy City Nights by Sambada, Mind Movement by Diferenz, and Aqua by Hedfunk, but could do without Jazz It Up by CFM Band or Pulsar by Yenneh. To be honest, I don't think any of the tracks are designed for active listening.

Personal Memory Associated with this CD: None. I must have picked this up for background music at work.
