Since September 2010, this blog has recorded the journey of this music junkie as I attempt to listen to all the music in my CD collection. CDs revisited in their entirety from start to finish - no skipping tracks, no shuffle. Compact Discs only - no vinyl, no tapes, no files.

Savage Garden - To The Moon And Back (1997)

US promo CD single

A decent enough single from the late '90s, it won an ARIA award (the Australian equivalent of a Grammy) for Song of the Year in 1997.

Billboard, May 24, 1997, p. 54

Peak on the US Billboard Hot 100 chart: #24

Tracks:
  1. long edit (4:32)
  2. short edit (4:13)
  3. callout hook #1 (:10)
  4. callout hook #2 (:05)

Personal Memory Associated with this CD: Songs of this type and vintage remind me of chaperoning middle school dances in the late '90s. Not as hellish as you'd think. I found the experience occasionally entertaining as I watched 12 year olds try to navigate the contrived social scene. And don't get me started on the hilarity of the dancing. When I'd get bored, I'd walk around carrying a huge Maglite 4 D-Cell Flashlight and shine it on unsuspecting students - "what do you think you're doing?" Good times.
